ABOUT ME

"Change happens through movement and movement heals." Joseph Pilates

After becoming a certified matwork Pilates teacher with J Pilates Education and Training in 2015, I began my career teaching corporate, group classes, and one-on-one sessions around London. My passion for this mindful movement fueled my desire to deepen my understanding of body mechanics and physiology through teaching. However, my journey was complicated by personal health issues.

After years of being gaslit by doctors that misdiagnosed me with IBS, I was finally diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis and adenomyosis. These gynecological conditions, where tissue similar to the lining of the womb fuses multiple structures in the pelvis, severely impacted my fertility and quality of life. Endometriosis is poorly understood and often takes an average of seven years to diagnose, as symptoms can vary widely among women. Receiving my diagnosis brought a mix of relief and frustration, prompting me to embark on a holistic journey of discovery and recovery.

With guidance from my endometriosis consultant, nutritionist, physiotherapist, alternative therapists, and support groups, I managed my symptoms through diet and lifestyle changes. Pilates became a cornerstone of my wellness routine, and my expertise in this area allowed me to develop an adapted movement program to manage my symptoms effectively. In 2019, I underwent surgery to remove the endometriosis, which significantly reduced my pelvic pain. Since then, I've been on a fertility journey, using Pilates to prepare and optimise my body for the physical challenges of Assisted Reproductive Therapy.

In addition to teaching Pilates, I now run wellness and lifestyle retreats for women. These retreats focus on building holistic self-care toolkits, and I collaborate with a list of trusted practitioners to offer comprehensive support. From nutrition and physical therapy to alternative therapies, my retreats provide a well-rounded approach to women's health and well-being.I am not a doctor or dietitian, and the information I share is not intended to treat or diagnose any condition. Learning from other women with similar experiences has been invaluable in my personal journey. My mission is to help women feel confident and reclaim trust in their bodies through controlled movement. The beauty of Pilates is that it can be practiced anywhere, anytime—once you get on the mat, you can feel connected and relaxed.

KIND WORDS

Mariola

My doctor recommended Pilates to me after two open surgeries to remove endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids. With Tina, I have been working on my core stability, pelvic floor and balance. After each class, I feel the benefits of Pilates and it has helped enormously with my recovery. The classes are a good pace and enjoyable and Tina is patient, kind and positive explaining every movement clearly. Since discovering Pilates with Tina, I feel stronger and more confident.

I started my postnatal pilates journey with Tina four months postpartum and it was incredible both mentally and physically. It was an opportunity for me to switch off and take some time for myself in addition to building up my strength slowly. She listened carefully to what my physical concerns were and made sure she gave me suitable adaptations throughout her classes as well as giving me focus exercises and postures to try outside of her classes. I cannot recommend Tina’s postnatal classes enough.

Jessica

Tina's ability to clearly explain and demonstrate Pilates moves has really helped me recognise how to improve my posture. She has taught me how to relax muscles and joints, where I held tension, from designing stained glass. I definitely notice less aches and pains in my daily life!

Sarah

Tina's retreat have literally changed my life. I went from feeling the lowest of the low to walking on clouds. With this new sense of drive and empowerment, I have made some really important changes to my diet and lifestyle to support my endo symptoms. I thank her for everything she's done for me personally with her Endo Flo Day Retreats.
